Mumbai, Aug 8 (IANS) Television actor Vibhav Roy, who has worked in shows such as Gustakh Dil, Doli Armaano Ki, Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan, and Shaitani Rasmein, revealed he is a chartered accountant on paper and would have likely stayed in the corporate world had he not chosen acting.

“Well, on paper, I’m a Chartered Accountant. I graduated from Monash University and worked in Australia before moving back to India to pursue acting. So, professionally, I probably would have continued as an accountant, perhaps in corporate finance or even investment banking,” Vibhav said.

He said deep down he always aspired to be an actor.

“But honestly, deep down, I think I would have always been an aspiring actor—or a frustrated artist. I’ve always believed in not living life with the question, ‘What if?’ That’s one of the biggest reasons I chose to follow my heart and give acting a real shot,” he said.

The actor noted that practicality would still have played a role had he stayed in finance. For the actor, the decision ultimately came down to purpose versus stability.

“I guess it comes back to something I mentioned earlier: you do some things for the soul and some for the kitchen. Thankfully, I chose the path that feeds my soul, and I feel fortunate that I took that leap of faith,” said the actor.

After working in television for three years, Vibhav got a break in movies when he was approached for Padmaavat. He played the role of Itaat Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus.

He also depicted the character of ‘Fahd Khan’ in Lashtam Pashtam, which released in 2018.

The actor was last seen in Shaitani Rasmein in 2024. The first season also starred Naqiyah Haji. Sumit Singh and Reyaansh Vir Chdha played the lead roles in the second season.
