Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan recently administered the oath and secrecy to ten newly elected members of the Rajya Sabha. Among them were four members from Andhra Pradesh, three from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and one from the Jana Sena Party (JSP), both part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Notable members who took the oath included representatives from Arunachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu.
The newly elected MPs from Andhra Pradesh, including Sana Satish Babu, Vijay Chintakayala, Bhashyam Rama Krishna, and Lingamaneni Ramesh, participated in the recent Rajya Sabha elections for 24 seats across 10 states. Following the oath-taking ceremony, these members are now officially part of the Rajya Sabha and can engage in the House’s proceedings. The linguistic diversity of the country was highlighted during the ceremony, with members taking oaths in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu.
Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, along with other dignitaries and officials, attended the ceremony. The recent Rajya Sabha elections, held on June 18 across 10 states, saw the BJP-led NDA securing 19 seats, with the INDIA bloc winning six seats.
