Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan participated in the closing ceremony of Bharat Parv 2026 at the Red Fort lawns, emphasizing India’s unity in diversity and collective commitment to Viksit Bharat@2047. The festival, organized by the Ministry of Tourism as part of Republic Day celebrations, showcased India’s cultural richness, artistic traditions, and tourism potential. Radhakrishnan described Bharat Parv as more than just a festival, calling it a vibrant experience that embodies India’s timeless spirit.
The Vice President highlighted that the event continued the essence of the 77th Republic Day, representing the nation’s soul through the participation of States and Union Territories. He praised the Republic Day Parade for symbolizing India’s unity in diversity, strength through discipline, and purposeful progress. Radhakrishnan commended the tableaux presented by States and Ministries for eloquently portraying a confident, creative, and progressive India dedicated to building a Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Emphasizing the special national significance of the year, Radhakrishnan noted the commemoration of 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram,’ acknowledging the song’s role in igniting the spirit of freedom and unity during India’s independence movement. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, stating that Bharat Parv embodies the ethos of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ by uniting traditions, crafts, cuisines, and artistic expressions from across India.
The Vice President cited initiatives like the Kashi Tamil Sangamam as examples of India’s enduring cultural ties and civilizational unity. Discussing India’s progress during the Amrit Kaal, Radhakrishnan mentioned infrastructure expansion, digital empowerment, financial inclusion, social security, women-led development, and youth innovation as factors reshaping the nation. He pointed out the significant growth in domestic tourism, with over 400 crore domestic tourist visits in 2025, reflecting a renewed national confidence and enthusiasm to explore India.
