Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan highlighted the government’s focus on Northeastern region development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He mentioned the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE), supporting infrastructure, social development, and livelihood projects. Radhakrishnan expressed confidence in a recent tripartite agreement benefiting the region’s peace and development.
Describing Nagaland as a place of natural beauty and rich culture, Radhakrishnan praised its people and traditions. He commended Nagaland University for its contributions to higher education and noted its efforts in cancer research and preserving indigenous languages. The Vice President urged graduating students to balance progress with environmental conservation and lead responsible lives.
Radhakrishnan emphasized the importance of continuous learning to adapt to evolving challenges and opportunities. He appreciated the infrastructural development in the Northeast over the past decade, highlighting its role in strengthening national unity. The Vice President also laid the foundation stone for HEFA Phase II buildings at Nagaland University during his visit.
Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Deputy Chief Minister T. R. Zeliang, Chancellor Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Vice-Chancellor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, and other dignitaries attended the event.
