Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan encouraged graduating students at Pondicherry University to take on the responsibility of nation-building, referring to them as the architects of Viksit Bharat@2047. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Tamil text Naladiyar, he emphasized the importance of discerning valuable and ethical knowledge within the limited time available for learning.
During the 30th Convocation of Pondicherry University, Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Mahakavi Subramania Bharati International Convention Centre on the campus. He also commenced a two-day visit to Puducherry, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, where he inaugurated the Senior Secondary Block of Petit Seminaire CBSE School, praising the institution’s commitment to holistic education.
Highlighting education as invaluable wealth, the Vice President stressed the significance of pursuing knowledge with depth, integrity, and social responsibility. He envisioned the realization of Viksit Bharat@2047 through the fusion of knowledge, character, and service, underscoring the role of education in shaping a progressive society.
In the presence of dignitaries including Lt. Governor of Puducherry K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, Radhakrishnan unveiled the statue of Mahakavi Subramania Bharatiyar at the Bharatiyar Memorial in Puducherry. He paid tribute to the poet for his contributions to Tamil literature and his profound love for the nation, emphasizing the need to uphold Bharatiyar’s legacy of free thought and creativity.
