Vice President C P Radhakrishnan met South African Vice President Shipokosa Paulus Mashatile in New Delhi to talk about enhancing trade, investment, defense cooperation, skills development, and people-to-people ties. The leaders also focused on advancing the priorities of the Global South.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening India–South Africa relations across various sectors. Shipokosa Paulus Mashatile highlighted the need for both nations to work together based on shared values to promote peace, equality, and fairness in global institutions.
South African Deputy President Shipokosa Paulus Mashatile, during his visit to India, also met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss further cooperation in trade, investments, MSMEs, digital, and infrastructure domains. The discussions emphasized the significance of India and South Africa collaborating closely in international forums.
After the engagements in Delhi, Shipokosa Paulus Mashatile is set to depart for Hyderabad, marking the end of his visit. The relationship between South Africa and India is deeply rooted in shared history, cultural ties, and a common vision for the world, focusing on non-alignment and supporting the development of the Global South through South-South partnerships.
