Purported videos circulating on social media depict Karnataka DGP K. Ramachandra Rao engaging in objectionable behavior with a woman inside his office while in uniform. The videos, allegedly recorded over a year ago, show intimate moments between Rao and the woman, with some footage displaying him in uniform kissing the woman.
The clips reveal instances of Rao in his official chamber, behaving intimately with the woman, including one where he is seen in a suit engaging in similar conduct in front of the Indian flag and Police Department’s emblem. The woman is shown cooperating with him in the videos, which have raised significant concerns online.
Sources have indicated that the videos were captured by CCTV cameras installed in Rao’s office. The incident has sparked outrage, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressing his displeasure over the matter. Former Home Minister Araga Jnanendra condemned Rao’s actions, stating that such behavior is unacceptable from a senior IPS officer.
It was previously reported that Ramachandra Rao was placed on compulsory leave in March 2025 in connection with a gold smuggling case, where he was alleged to have collaborated with actress Ranya Rao. Despite being reinstated recently, the government had initiated a probe against him. Ranya Rao, arrested for gold smuggling and misusing her stepfather’s name, is also linked to the case.
