Actor-turned-politician Vijay submitted his nomination papers for the Perambur Assembly constituency, a significant step in his political journey ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The nomination event at Dr Ambedkar Government Arts College in Vyasarpadi saw a massive turnout of supporters, including party leaders N. Anand and C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar.

Thousands of TVK cadres, fans, and the public gathered along the routes leading to Vyasarpadi and outside the college premises well before Vijay’s arrival, showcasing the growing political momentum of the party. As Vijay’s campaign vehicle moved through the area, crowds eagerly gathered to catch a glimpse of the popular actor-politician.

The nomination day was described by party insiders as a “show of strength,” underscoring the grassroots enthusiasm surrounding Vijay’s foray into electoral politics. With Perambur being a closely watched constituency in Chennai, Vijay’s candidacy is poised to bring a fresh dynamic to the electoral race. The TVK, under Vijay’s leadership, is fielding a full slate of candidates, positioning itself as an alternative to the established Dravidian parties.
