Actor-turned-politician Vijay is gearing up to boost his election campaign in Tiruppur on Tuesday evening, rallying support for his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in eight crucial Assembly constituencies. Vijay’s campaign will cover Tiruppur North, Tiruppur South, Avinashi, Palladam, Kangayam, Dharapuram, Udumalpet, and Madathukulam constituencies as part of an energetic outreach initiative to strengthen backing before the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
Vijay is set to start his campaign from Chennai, flying to Coimbatore earlier in the day, and then proceeding by road to Avinashi for the main phase of his campaign. Beginning around 3 p.m., he will launch a roadshow from the Attayampalayam division, moving through key areas like the old and new bus stand zones in Avinashi, where he plans to engage with the public and seek votes for TVK candidates.
The campaign convoy will then travel along the national highway to Perumanallur, where Vijay will continue his outreach efforts, culminating in Pooluvapatti, covering densely populated neighborhoods and commercial zones. Throughout the journey, Vijay will connect with supporters, party members, and the public to invigorate the party’s grassroots support in the region.
Authorities have granted conditional permission for the campaign between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., with stringent guidelines in place to ensure public safety and order. Extensive police security arrangements have been put in place across Avinashi, Perumanallur, Pooluvapatti, and nearby areas in anticipation of large crowds. Senior police officials are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any potential incidents.
In an unexpected turn of events, TVK has announced the sudden cancellation of Vijay’s planned campaign in Dharmapuri later in the day, despite prior approval from the Election Commission. The decision has taken party volunteers by surprise, with no official explanation provided immediately.
With considerable public interest surrounding his campaign, Vijay’s Tiruppur campaign is poised to attract significant attention in the ongoing electoral contest.
