In Basanti, BJP candidate Vikas Sardar was attacked and his vehicle vandalized by alleged Trinamool Congress activists near booth number 76. Despite the presence of central forces, the incident escalated tensions in the area. Meanwhile, in Sasan, AISF supporters and villagers retaliated against Trinamool Congress activists for allegedly intimidating voters.
At booth number 147 in Ramchandrapur, clashes between AISF and Trinamool Congress supporters in Khanakul, Hooghly district, led to tensions. AISF accused the ruling party of placing agents fraudulently and preventing their agents from entering the booth. In Howrah district, EVM malfunctions at a polling station led to voter agitation, with central forces resorting to lathi-charge to restore order.
In Karimpur, Nadia district, tensions rose as a West Bengal police officer was seen influencing voters in favor of Trinamool Congress. The ongoing elections have been marred by incidents of violence and disruptions across multiple constituencies.
