Actor-comedian-filmmaker Vir Das, known for “Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos,” is set to direct his first found footage horror film, “Baara Number.” Collaborating with Kavi Shastri once again, the duo will co-direct the project, promising a unique take on the horror genre with a layered and immersive narrative style.

Scheduled to start filming in June in Mumbai, “Baara Number” will feature Vir Das in a multi-character cast. The film aims to break away from traditional horror clichés, focusing on psychological depth and atmospheric storytelling to deliver a fresh cinematic experience.

Positioned as a found footage horror narrative, “Baara Number” has been in development for some time, aiming to offer a nuanced exploration of fear by delving into both external tensions and internal human emotions. The project is expected to bring a new perspective to horror storytelling.

Talking about his directorial debut, “Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos,” Vir Das’s film is produced under Aamir Khan Productions and features a star-studded cast. The movie follows the story of Happy Patel, who embarks on a mission in Goa, encountering challenges and adversities that test his abilities and character.
