Actor, comedian, and filmmaker Vir Das has announced the cast for his upcoming directorial project “Baara Number,” including Arunoday Singh, Atul Kulkarni, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Sheeba Chaddha, Ahsaas Channa, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Suhail Nayyar, Puja Sarup, and Naveen Kaushik. Das expressed excitement about working with actors he has long admired, praising their energy and authenticity that they bring to the film. “Baara Number” is described as a found-footage psychological horror film, with Das emphasizing the importance of creating a sense of realism to enhance the horror experience.
The film, co-directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri, is set to begin filming in Mumbai in June. Vir Das will also be part of the diverse cast in the movie, which has been in development for some time. “Baara Number” is expected to offer a nuanced exploration of fear, delving into both external tensions and internal human emotions. Das, known for his debut directorial “Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos,” is collaborating with Aamir Khan Productions for this project.
“Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos” featured Vir Das, Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and Srushti Tawade, marking the return of Imran Khan to the silver screen after a decade. The film follows the story of Happy Patel, the adopted son of two British secret agents, who discovers his Indian heritage after failing to join the MI7 covert agency.
