India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player Virat Kohli has commenced his preparations for the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), scheduled to start on March 28. Kohli recently posted a video on Instagram showcasing his practice session, where he displayed good form by hitting powerful shots in the nets at a training facility in the United Kingdom. In the video, Kohli can be seen training in indoor nets, captioning the post “IPL 2026” with a sandclock emoticon.
The RCB franchise also shared the video, expressing their excitement for the upcoming season and praising Kohli’s performance in the training session. Celebrating Kohli’s 18-year journey with the team, RCB highlighted his evolution from a promising youngster to an indispensable figure in the franchise. Kohli played a crucial role in RCB’s victory in the 2025 IPL season, where he emerged as the team’s top run-scorer with an impressive strike rate.
Retiring from Tests and T20Is, Kohli now focuses solely on ODIs in international cricket. After retiring from Test cricket last year and T20Is following India’s World Cup win in 2024, Kohli continues to lead by example with his dedication and loyalty to the game.
