Vote counting for the Dharmanagar Assembly bypoll, conducted on April 9, commenced at 8 a.m. on Monday amid tight security measures. The process will start with the counting of postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), with four rounds of counting scheduled in Dharmanagar, North Tripura.
A single counting hall will host the counting process, equipped with 14 tables, each supervised by a counting supervisor and assistants. Central observers appointed by the Election Commission will oversee the entire counting procedure. Results are anticipated to be announced by Monday afternoon.
Security arrangements, including a three-tier security setup, have been implemented for the vote counting. Various security forces, such as the CRPF, Tripura State Rifles, and state Police personnel, are stationed in and around the counting center to ensure a secure environment. Prohibitory orders have been enforced in the vicinity of the counting center to maintain peace during the counting process.
