Voting in the parliamentary elections is currently ongoing in Bangladesh, with citizens in Dhaka forming long queues outside polling centers. This election is significant as it follows the end of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s 15-year rule, which concluded 18 months ago after widespread protests reshaped the political landscape of the country.

From the early hours of the morning, voters, including many first-time electors, have been seen lining up at various polling stations in Dhaka. They are expressing hope for the future of the country, emphasizing the need for reform, stability, and the eradication of corruption.

First-time voters are enthusiastic about participating in the electoral process. One voter expressed happiness and excitement about voting for the first time, hoping that their vote contributes to a prosperous and safe Bangladesh. Another voter echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the desire for a corruption-free nation.

Young voters view this election as a pivotal moment for Bangladesh. They aspire to see leaders with progressive mentalities and ethical values come into power. The voting atmosphere has been described as more open compared to previous elections, allowing citizens to cast their votes freely without hesitation.

Calls for systemic reforms are prevalent among voters, with many emphasizing the need for changes in the country’s governance and constitution. Security measures have been heightened across the capital and other regions to ensure peaceful polling, with the army assisting civil authorities in Dhaka.

Authorities have urged citizens to vote peacefully and uphold law and order during this crucial electoral process, which is expected to shape the country’s political trajectory in the years ahead. Voting will continue throughout the day.
