A 10-year-old girl’s abduction and murder in Coimbatore have sparked grief and outrage in Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay expressed deep anguish over the incident, calling it an “inhuman and unforgivable criminal act.” He assured strict action against those responsible, emphasizing that such barbaric acts cannot be tolerated in a civilized society.
The Chief Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family, emphasizing the government’s support during this difficult time. Two individuals, Karthik and his associate Mohanraj, were arrested in connection with the crime. The accused, known to the victim’s family, are suspected of abducting and murdering the child.
Karthik sustained injuries while trying to escape from police custody, resulting in fractures to his leg and hand. He was later brought back into police custody for further investigation. Meanwhile, Mohanraj appeared before a Judicial Magistrate and was remanded to judicial custody until May 27.
Chief Minister Vijay directed police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the prompt filing of the chargesheet. He emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering severe punishment to those involved in heinous crimes against women and children.
