The recent ‘Waves 2025’ event attracted participants from 90+ countries, including 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, 300+ companies, and 350 startups, with an overall attendance of around 100,000 individuals. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting highlighted several key initiatives to bolster India’s media and entertainment sector, with a major focus on ‘WAVES 2025’, described by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a symbol of culture, creativity, and global connectivity.
PM Modi emphasized India’s commitment to “Create in India, Create for the World,” encouraging international investors and youth to engage with India’s vibrant creative landscape. The event featured CreatoSphere, an innovation hub promoting creators across various sectors like film, VFX, VR, animation, gaming, music, and digital media, fostering collaboration and talent showcasing on a global scale. Additionally, CIC Season-I, a significant creative talent movement, garnered massive participation from India and 60+ countries, showcasing over 750 finalists across eight creative zones at WAVES.
Furthermore, ‘WaveX’ initiative aimed to empower 200+ startups, facilitating interactions with industry giants like Microsoft, Amazon, and Lumikai, while nearly 100 startups presented innovative solutions. During August-November 2025, ‘WAVES Bazaar’ engaged in extensive outreach activities, participating in major international and domestic events, resulting in potential business and investment discussions amounting to Rs 4,334 crore.
