West Bengal BJP State President Samik Bhattacharya has asserted that former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s political reign in the state has concluded, emphasizing that no alliance can revive her authority. Bhattacharya mentioned that Banerjee is at liberty to travel anywhere, even abroad, but stressed that her political influence in West Bengal has effectively ceased. He highlighted the BJP’s ascension in the state as the outcome of persistent efforts and sacrifices made by party members.
Bhattacharya expressed that every BJP worker across the nation harbored the aspiration of establishing a government inspired by Syama Prasad Mukherjee in West Bengal. He credited the party’s rise to the dedication and sacrifices of its workers, acknowledging the toil of 321 workers who lost their lives in the process. Bhattacharya acknowledged the new governance responsibilities faced by the party after a prolonged political struggle and cautioned against any attempts to disrupt the prevailing political order.
The BJP leader issued a stern warning against any form of lawlessness, affirming that stringent actions would be taken against those engaging in unruly behavior. He urged individuals not to instigate chaos, emphasizing that the power dynamics have shifted, and any misconduct would be met with legal consequences. Bhattacharya also raised concerns about external influences during elections, alleging the involvement of workers from other states in campaigning activities in West Bengal.
These statements by Bhattacharya follow the recent swearing-in of Suvendu Adhikari as the Chief Minister, signaling a significant political transition in West Bengal.
