West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari revealed a new policy for the state government to directly buy land from owners for establishing industries. This initiative aims to prevent land disputes like those seen in Singur and Nandigram in the past. Adhikari assured potential investors of a smooth land acquisition process during the foundation-stone laying event of a hosiery manufacturing unit in Hooghly district.
Adhikari emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order to attract new investments to the state. He highlighted the government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for industrial growth by eradicating corruption practices like cut-money and extortion from the past regime.
The Chief Minister criticized the previous administration for leaving a substantial debt burden on the current government. He stressed the need to boost revenue through industrial development to fund more infrastructure projects and enhance economic growth. Adhikari aims to position West Bengal as a prime investment destination in the country.
Adhikari underscored the significance of industrialization in generating employment opportunities in the state. He emphasized the need for both public sector job creation and support for new entrepreneurs through soft loans to address the unemployment challenge effectively.
