West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari met with an elderly couple who fell victim to the arrested land mafia-promoters Biswajit Poddar and Joy Kamdar. The couple, residents of the Chief Minister’s constituency, shared how they were deceived by the duo during a ‘People’s Court’ session.
The senior citizens explained that they had entrusted their ancestral property to the fraudsters for a real estate project. However, despite assurances, they were not provided with the promised residential flat upon project completion. Forced to live in a rented place, they sought the Chief Minister’s help.
The Chief Minister, after hearing their plight, assured the couple of personal involvement in resolving the issue promptly. The elderly gentleman expressed relief and gratitude, stating that he felt reassured by the Chief Minister’s commitment.
A group of teachers, affected by court rulings in a cash-for-job case, also sought assistance at the ‘People’s Court.’ The Chief Minister, accompanied by senior BJP leaders, promised to address their concerns and work towards a fair resolution.
