West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash. Banerjee conveyed her shock and sadness at the sudden loss of the senior leader in the crash that occurred in Baramati.
Expressing her condolences to Ajit Pawar’s family, including his uncle Sharad Pawar, Banerjee called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident, which claimed the lives of Pawar and four others, including pilots and security personnel, has left many in mourning.
Ajit Pawar lost his life in a plane crash while en route from Mumbai to Baramati for public meetings ahead of local body elections. The aircraft, departing from Mumbai, crashed near Baramati airport during its landing attempt, leading to the tragic fatalities. Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, also expressed his shock and sadness over Pawar’s untimely demise.
Adhikari praised Ajit Pawar’s contributions to Maharashtra’s development, particularly in rural and agricultural sectors, and his efforts in strengthening the MahaYuti Alliance. He emphasized the irreparable loss felt not only by the Nationalist Congress Party and Maharashtra but also by the National Democratic Alliance and Indian politics as a whole. Adhikari extended his heartfelt condolences to Pawar’s family, friends, and followers, as well as to the families of the other victims of the tragic air crash.
