West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose emphasized the urgent need to eradicate violence and corruption in the state, likening them to a cancer that threatens its future prosperity. Speaking at the ‘Shanti, Shudhi, Samriddhi’ event in Kolkata, he highlighted the importance of safeguarding democratic institutions by addressing these challenges. Bose stressed the significance of preserving Bengal’s cultural heritage by combating corruption and violence at all costs.
Welcoming the Supreme Court’s involvement in scrutinizing voters’ documents with “logical discrepancies” during the ongoing electoral roll revision, the Governor expressed confidence in the process to rectify any existing issues. He mentioned that the court’s oversight would ensure the system’s accuracy and credibility over time. Additionally, Bose addressed the recent discussions on renaming Kerala, noting that the constitutional procedures were duly followed, and the Union government approved the proposal after it was passed in the Kerala Assembly.
During the event, Governor Bose advocated for a values-driven, youth-centric, and development-focused West Bengal characterized by discipline, innovation, and cultural pride. He emphasized the importance of aligning the state’s progress with the broader visions of “Viksit Bengal” and “Viksit Bharat.”
