The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of West Bengal Police has pinpointed an abandoned thatched hut near the pond where the body of a 12-year-old girl was found as the likely “scene of crime.” Initial investigations suggest that the crime, involving rape and murder, took place in this hut before the girl’s body was dumped in the nearby pond.
According to insiders from the Baruipur district police, the accused callously dumped the girl’s body after tying her in a sack with a metal wire to prevent her escape. The autopsy report indicates that the victim was still alive when she was thrown into the pond, with the intention of ensuring her death and destroying evidence.
Investigators believe that the girl likely became unconscious due to the severe injuries inflicted on her. Her death appears to be a result of a combination of these injuries and drowning in the pond. After disposing of the body, the three accused individuals fled the scene through different routes.
The investigating officials are awaiting final autopsy and forensic reports to confirm the rape and murder charges and provide detailed insights into the causes of the girl’s death.
