West Indian fast bowler Jayden Seales has signed with Hampshire for the upcoming 2026 County Championship, stepping in for Michael Neser who was called back by Cricket Australia. Seales, aged 24, will be part of a prestigious lineage of West Indian cricket legends at Hampshire, including Malcolm Marshall and Gordon Greenidge.
Hampshire’s Director of Cricket, Giles White, expressed enthusiasm for Seales’ addition, highlighting the bowler’s pace, skill, and competitive spirit. Seales brings experience from playing ten matches for Sussex, where he contributed significantly to their promotion to Division One in 2024.
Seales, who made his international debut in 2021, has swiftly made his mark in West Indian cricket. With an impressive track record, including a notable five-wicket haul against Pakistan, he has become a key figure in the West Indies pace attack. Despite the West Indies’ recent exit from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, Seales continues to lead his nation’s bowling lineup.
First-class cricket action is set to return to Utilita Bowl on April 3, with Hampshire set to face Essex in the opening fixture of the County Championship Division One.
