A woman from Khuzdar city in Pakistan’s Balochistan province has accused Abdul Malik, also known as Malo, an associate of former Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri, of killing one of her sons, injuring another, and seizing her family’s land. She claimed that Abdul Malik, allegedly acting under the former CM’s protection, targeted her family and took over their property in Zehri. The woman stated that due to the attacks on her children, she was compelled to leave the area, with her houses being occupied, and she criticized the authorities for failing to deliver justice, citing the influence of the former CM.
On May 22, a human rights organization highlighted the extrajudicial killing of two civilians reportedly by Pakistani forces. The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) strongly denounced the killing of an elderly farmer named Sheerdil in the Turbat region of Kech district on May 21, accusing Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) personnel of firing near his land, resulting in his death. The BYC emphasized the deteriorating situation in Balochistan, with ongoing violence and families enduring immense suffering and loss.
In a separate tragic incident, the body of a 21-year-old driver named Muhsin was discovered in the Paroom region of Panjgur district on May 19, approximately 66 days after his enforced disappearance. Muhsin was allegedly taken by FC personnel on March 16 from the Jeerak crossing point in Paroom, subsequently killed during detention, and his body discarded. The BYC appealed to international human rights organizations to promptly address the escalating human rights violations in Balochistan, stressing the need for accountability, justice, civilian protection, and dignity for affected families.
