Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped by Group of Youths After Accepting Ride

In a distressing incident, a 41-year-old woman was reportedly gang-raped by 10 youths after accepting a ride while heading back to her parental home following a domestic dispute in Davanagere district. The incident occurred under the Basavapatna police station limits of Channagiri taluk.
Authorities swiftly responded to the complaint, leading to the arrest of all 10 suspects, which includes a minor. The accused individuals, identified as Ishtree Nagaraj, Arjuna, Basavantha, Kunduru Maruti, Hegga Maruti, Manu, Jogi Sunil, Pradeep, Madhu, and a minor, were apprehended based on the victim’s statement.
Following medical examinations at Channagiri taluk hospital, the accused were presented before a magistrate and subsequently remanded to judicial custody for a fortnight.
