A missing person report in Surat has unfolded into a tragic incident where a woman was allegedly murdered by her husband. The police revealed that the victim’s body was hidden in a cement-filled wooden box at an abandoned house in the Salabatpura area.
The case came to light when the victim’s father reported on April 25 that his daughter, Shilpa (39), had been killed by her husband, Vishal Salvi (40), who initially misled the family by claiming she was missing. Salvi himself had filed a missing person report on April 24 after being questioned by family members.
During the investigation, police discovered a handwritten confession by the accused, admitting to killing his wife on April 20 after a domestic dispute. The body was found concealed in a wooden box filled with cement and soil at an abandoned house. Salvi was later arrested in Antroli village after attempting to flee.
Officials mentioned that the victim, Shilpa, worked as a dietician in the private sector, while the accused, Salvi, was previously employed in the diamond industry but was jobless at the time of the incident. The couple, who had been married for years and had two children, were reportedly facing domestic disputes, financial issues, and suspicions related to the victim’s phone conversations.
