In a disturbing incident in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, a woman reportedly killed her husband with her lover’s assistance and disposed of his body in a nearby forest. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Budhram Tirkey, worked as a sales manager at a textile store in Gumla. The police disclosed that the wife, Ranthi Devi, and her alleged lover, Sitaram Oraon, were behind the murder plot.
The case unfolded when Budhram mysteriously disappeared, prompting concerns among his family members. On January 2, Budhram left home with his wife and son under the pretext of visiting a traditional healer. However, only Ranthi Devi returned with the child later that day, offering vague and inconsistent responses about Budhram’s whereabouts, intensifying suspicions.
After failed attempts to locate Budhram, his family filed a missing person report at the Gumla police station. Simultaneously, villagers alerted the authorities about a body discovered in a forest area under the Sisai police station’s jurisdiction. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the body belonged to Budhram Tirkey, with evidence pointing to his wife’s extramarital affair as a motive for the murder.
Following initial inquiries, the police determined that Budhram was allegedly murdered with a sharp weapon before being dumped in the forest. Ranthi Devi and Sitaram Oraon have been detained for interrogation, with two additional suspects linked to the crime. Law enforcement officials assured that all individuals involved in the heinous act would be apprehended soon.
