In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a woman and her alleged lover were arrested for the suspected murder of her husband, which they tried to pass off as a snakebite, according to the police.
The victim, Atul Panwar, who ran a play school in Hastinapur with his wife Damini, was found dead on his bed. Investigations revealed that Damini was reportedly in a relationship with the school’s driver, Tushar alias Nikki.
Damini allegedly mixed sleeping pills in her husband’s milk to render him unconscious before introducing a poisonous snake onto the bed, resulting in a fatal bite. The accused planned to make the murder look like a natural snakebite to avoid suspicion, but further scrutiny exposed their conspiracy.
Police uncovered evidence implicating Damini and Tushar in the crime, including previous attempts to kill Panwar through a staged road accident. The motive behind the murder was to claim a Rs 20 lakh insurance payout and to enable the continuation of their illicit relationship.
