In Bengaluru’s K.R. Puram area, a woman and her live-in partner were arrested for the alleged murder of her parents and younger sister. The victims, identified as Somasundar (55), Muttulakshmi (48), and Supriya (20), were from Tamil Nadu and lived in Bengaluru. The murders occurred following the family’s opposition to the woman’s relationship and inquiries about her loans totaling Rs 30 lakh.
Shweta, the woman, was in a live-in relationship with her partner Kenneth, which her family strongly objected to. The police suspect that the motive behind the murders was a combination of the family dispute and questions raised about the substantial loans taken by Shweta. The couple allegedly planned the murders and attacked the family members separately in their apartment.
During the altercation, Kenneth and Shweta attacked Muttulakshmi, concealing her body in the bathroom. Subsequently, they targeted Supriya and Somasundar upon their arrival. Despite severe injuries, Somasundar managed to escape and seek help but later succumbed to his injuries. The police are investigating the case, focusing on the family’s long-standing disputes over the relationship and financial issues.
The murders took place around 8.30 P.M. on Monday, with the police launching a detailed investigation into the sequence of events and motives behind the crime. A search is underway for the accused daughter and her partner, as the investigation continues.
