A woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain district was reportedly assaulted in Arniya Vena village on June 30. The incident involved breaking into her in-laws’ house by several individuals, who then dragged her out, cut her hair, tore her clothes, and paraded her with a garland of shoes and slippers. The woman alleged that she was left partially unclothed during the ordeal, and her husband was also attacked.
The woman claimed that she and her husband were threatened and beaten, resulting in injuries to both. The police investigation revealed that she had a previous marriage in the same village before marrying her current husband. The assault apparently occurred when she returned to claim a share of the family property, leading to a dispute escalating into violence.
Three of the accused, namely Sumer Singh, Kachru Singh, and Badrilal, have been apprehended and placed in judicial custody. Authorities are actively pursuing the remaining suspects to complete the investigation and ensure justice is served.
