In a surprising development related to the alleged sexual misconduct case involving Lingayat seer Basava Jayamrutyunjaya Swamiji, a woman from Bengaluru who previously filed a complaint has reversed her stance, citing misuse of both her and the Swamiji’s names. The woman, who had been missing, reappeared in a video from an undisclosed location, expressing intentions to address the media soon. She released a letter to the Chief Minister and Home Minister, accusing certain individuals of orchestrating false propaganda against them.
The woman refuted all allegations against her and the Swamiji, labeling them as unfounded and false. She announced plans to provide further details on the matter within the next four to five days. This unexpected turn of events has added a new dimension to the case, casting doubt on the original complaint and the circumstances surrounding it. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as it evolves.
Previously, Basava Jayamruthyunjaya Swamiji, the head of the Kudalasangama Panchamasali Peetha and a key figure in the Lingayat Panchamasali community’s reservation movement, faced serious accusations of rape, sexual harassment, and blackmail following a complaint by a Bengaluru woman. The woman had alleged that the seer sexually assaulted her and subjected her to ongoing harassment. Letters were circulated to the media, revealing her complaints to various officials seeking action against the Swamiji. In response, the Swamiji denied the allegations and lodged a counter-complaint against the woman in Vijayapura, claiming she was part of a defamation campaign orchestrated by political influences.
