A 39-year-old woman, Bhuvaneshwari, an assistant manager at Union Bank of India in Bengaluru, was fatally shot by her husband in the Magadi Road area. The husband, Balamurugan, a former software engineer at Capgemini, surrendered to the police and admitted to the crime. The couple, married in 2011, had been living separately due to marital issues for about one-and-a-half years.
The victim, Bhuvaneshwari, had been trying to legally separate from her husband, who was reportedly against it. The husband suspected her of infidelity, leading to frequent arguments between them. Bhuvaneshwari had moved away with her children six months ago, keeping her location unknown to her husband. However, he traced her four months ago and shifted closer to her residence.
On the fateful day, the husband waited for Bhuvaneshwari to return home from work and shot her at close range with a pistol. Despite being rushed to Shanbagh Hospital, she was declared dead upon arrival. Following the incident, the husband confessed to the police at Magadi Road station and surrendered himself. The police have detained him, and investigations are ongoing.
