A 20-year-old woman named Vaishnavi Avare was fatally stabbed by a 26-year-old man, Sahil Ashok Lavare, near a temple in Nashik’s Indiranagar area. The incident, suspected to be a case of murder-suicide, occurred late Friday night. Lavare was later found dead by suicide at a jogging track in the same locality early Saturday morning.

Residents who heard the victim’s screams rushed to the scene but found Avare succumbing to her injuries before she could receive medical help. Lavare had allegedly stabbed her multiple times and slit her throat with a knife before fleeing.

The police discovered Lavare hanging from a tree at the jogging track around 3 A.M., leading them to believe he died by suicide after committing the murder. Initial investigations suggested a potential one-sided love affair as the trigger for the attack. However, it was later revealed that Lavare and Avare had been in a live-in relationship for nearly two years.

Authorities disclosed that Avare, a student, had been residing as a paying guest in the area. The police are conducting a thorough inquiry to determine the exact events leading to the tragedy and to establish the motive behind the crime. Further investigations into the case are ongoing.
