Women business leaders and professionals commended the national convention “Bharati — Nari to Narayani” for uniting women across communities and sectors to discuss empowerment, culture, and leadership. Lakshmi Puri, former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, expressed her joy in participating in this unique event on International Women’s Day, extending her greetings to women worldwide.
Sandhya Purecha, Chairperson of Sangeet Natak Akademi, highlighted the convention’s broad discussions encompassing ancient Indian knowledge and contemporary policy frameworks. She emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment, family strengthening, and dialogues on culture and progress during the event.
The theme “Nari to Narayani” was underscored by Purecha, signifying the recognition of women’s inherent strength and potential in society. She stressed that India’s influence lies not in military conquest but in its rich heritage and culture.
Shashi Buvna, a businesswoman, noted the convention’s inclusivity, bringing together women from diverse social and economic backgrounds to exchange experiences and viewpoints. She emphasized the varied challenges faced by women from different societal strata and the importance of their collective participation.
The convention, held in the national capital over two days, attracted women leaders, professionals, and social workers. Discussions ranged from cultural heritage and leadership to women’s empowerment and societal progress.
