Notable signings included World Championship medallist Antim Panghal going to UP Dominators for ₹52 lakh in the women’s 53 kg category, and Puerto Rico’s Ana Godinez joining Punjab Royals for ₹46 lakh in the women’s 62 kg division. Azerbaijan’s Anastasiya Alpayeva was secured by Delhi Dangal Warriors for ₹27 lakh in the women’s 76 kg category.
The auction saw Category A+ wrestlers starting at a base price of ₹18 lakh, with impressive bids for top talents. Among the men, marquee signings featured Robert Baran of Poland going to Maharashtra Kesari for ₹55 lakh and Paris 2024 bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat joining Tigers of Mumbai Dangal for ₹51 lakh, indicating a strong demand for established performers in various weight categories. Delhi Dangal Warriors and UP Dominators also bolstered their squads with key acquisitions.
The ongoing auction process categorizes wrestlers into A+, A, B, and C groups, with base prices ranging from ₹18 lakh to ₹3 lakh. With a total purse of ₹12 crore, each of the six franchises has ₹2 crore to build teams competing in nine weight categories. Teams must comprise nine to twelve wrestlers, including four overseas participants and at least one Category C wrestler. As bidding continues, franchises are expected to refine their rosters for the upcoming PWL 2026 season.
The Pro Wrestling League 2026, India’s premier franchise-based wrestling competition sanctioned by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), is scheduled to commence from January 15 to February 1, 2026. The league promises intense competition featuring top Indian and international wrestling talent.
