Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2026 to Kick Off in Bhubaneswar

The Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2026 will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from January 17 to 22. A total of 18 teams will participate, grouped into five pools, competing for the championship. The league matches will start on January 17, with the final scheduled for January 22.

The tournament will be inaugurated on January 16 at the Hi-Tech Medical College Auditorium. The event will witness the presence of the Hon’ble Minister for Sports, Government of Odisha, along with guests from corporate organizations and political representatives. Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar, Chairman of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), highlighted the importance of national-level tournaments in nurturing talent for the Indian Women’s Team.

The tournament will feature 31 matches, with the grand finale set for January 22 at the Hi-Tech Medical College Cricket Ground. The winning team will receive a cash prize of INR 1,50,000, while the runners-up will get INR 1,25,000. Additionally, players will be recognized with awards, including Players of the Series and Players of the Match.

Md. Jafar Iqbal, President of the Cricket Association for the Visually Impaired in Odisha (CAVI), expressed delight in hosting the tournament. The 18 teams have been grouped based on their previous performances, with Odisha having claimed the title three times in the last five editions. Madhya Pradesh, the reigning champions, will face tough competition in the upcoming tournament.
