Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to inaugurate the E-bus service on Friday to enhance connectivity in Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Authority areas. The launch will take place at Shilp Haat in Sector-33A, aiming to modernize the bus fleet and promote eco-friendly public transportation in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The event is expected to be attended by around 300 people, with the unveiling of ten electric buses at the Shilp Haat complex. These buses will soon start operating on designated routes from the bus depot in Sector-90. Initially, each of the authorities – Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna – will operate 10 buses within their respective jurisdictions.
Authorities have meticulously planned the bus routes in each area, ensuring fares ranging from Rs 20 to Rs 50 to offer passengers affordable travel options. The primary goal of the e-bus service is to establish better connectivity between the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar and the surrounding regions of Noida, Greater Noida, and beyond.
Various routes will link to the airport, while buses will also connect key locations like Botanical Garden, Sector-62, Greater Noida West, Surajpur, and Pari Chowk. Furthermore, connectivity will extend to Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar, Ghaziabad, and ISBT, with additional long-distance routes connecting rural and urban areas within the Yamuna Authority region.
Plans include the operation of 100 e-buses, with Noida receiving 50 and Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority areas getting 25 each. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has also sanctioned another 100 e-buses, with expectations of having around 200 electric buses operational by the end of the year, bolstering the public transport network.
