Yorkshire has recruited Pakistan’s Hasan Ali as their overseas player for the upcoming T20 Blast, replacing the injured Naveen-ul-Haq. Naveen’s absence, due to a stress fracture in his right shoulder, is a setback for Yorkshire, who initially had him signed for the competition.
Hasan Ali, a seasoned Pakistani fast bowler, brings a wealth of experience to Yorkshire, having featured in 57 T20 internationals for Pakistan and excelled in various global leagues. His track record in English domestic cricket is impressive, with 44 wickets at an average of 14.93 during his stint with Warwickshire from 2023 to 2025, along with strong performances in the Pakistan Super League.
Expected to participate throughout the Blast group stage, Hasan will also contribute to two County Championship matches against Warwickshire and Leicestershire, bolstering Yorkshire’s squad across different formats.
Yorkshire’s cricket General Manager, Gavin Hamilton, acknowledged the disappointment of losing Naveen but expressed confidence in Hasan as a remarkable replacement. Hamilton emphasized Hasan’s experience and skill set, considering him a valuable addition to the team.
The T20 Blast, established in 2003, is the world’s oldest domestic T20 league, featuring 18 teams, including 17 in England and 1 in Wales.
