A tragic incident occurred in Jamshedpur as a young man, Sudip Roy, lost his life in a road accident near Bhuiyandih Golchakkar. Sudip, a resident of Mango and an employee at Lifeline Nursing Home, was hit by an unidentified heavy vehicle while returning to work after lunch. The impact of the collision was fatal, resulting in his immediate death.
The accident led to local residents expressing outrage and staging protests against the lack of safety measures in the area. The community gathered at the site, blocking the road and demanding stricter enforcement to prevent such incidents. They highlighted the history of serious accidents in the Bhuiyandih Golchakkar region, urging authorities to take immediate action.
In response to the protests, Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Arnab Mishra, accompanied by the police, intervened to address the concerns of the demonstrators. Assurances were given to the residents regarding improved road safety measures and stricter actions against speeding heavy vehicles. Subsequently, the protesters agreed to end the blockade, allowing traffic to resume gradually.
Authorities have taken possession of Sudip’s body for a post-mortem examination, with his family duly informed about the tragic event. An investigation has been initiated to identify the responsible heavy vehicle and take necessary legal actions. Efforts are underway to locate the driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal accident.
