Aradhya Kshitij, a 17-year-old tennis player from Bengaluru, recently clinched the ITF J200 Kolkata title and now eyes a move into the professional circuit. Starting tennis at age four on his teacher’s advice to channel his energy, Kshitij’s journey has been supported by his mother, who left her teaching job to accompany him full-time.
Despite facing confidence issues before the tournament due to early exits in previous events, Kshitij adopted a fearless attitude in Kolkata, leading to his victory. Overcoming tough challenges, including a semifinal match against the top seed, he displayed resilience and composure to secure the championship.
Reflecting on his win, Kshitij emphasized the importance of not giving up and maintaining a fighting spirit on the court. His victory in Kolkata marks a significant milestone in his career, with aspirations for future men’s tournaments and junior Grand Slams on the horizon.
