A young man was fatally shot at close range by two individuals in the Golabari Police Station area of Howrah district, West Bengal. The distressing incident, captured on CCTV around 4 a.m., revealed the assailants pulling out guns and firing at the victim’s head, followed by additional shots to confirm his demise before fleeing the scene. Authorities from Golabari police station are probing whether the attack stemmed from extortion or past animosity, causing a stir in the locality.

The victim, identified as Safiq Khan, hails from Peelkhana within the Golabari police station’s jurisdiction and worked as a local developer. Eyewitnesses recognized the two suspects as Mohammad Harul Khan and Rohit, with CCTV footage showing one of them engaging Safiq in conversation while the other positioned behind him. The attackers swiftly shot Safiq, leading to his immediate demise, prompting a police investigation to apprehend the perpetrators. The deceased’s family suggested the attack was linked to a previous dispute, denying any ongoing enmity.

Law enforcement officials are meticulously reviewing the CCTV recordings to identify and locate the culprits behind the fatal shooting in West Bengal.
