Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has criticized the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government for attempting to stifle the Opposition. He expressed concerns that the state government is intentionally obstructing the YSRCP from being recognized as the primary opposition to suppress its voice. Jagan Mohan Reddy, addressing YSRCP legislators, emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing their presence in the Assembly and Council sessions.
The ex-Chief Minister highlighted the lack of adequate time allocated to the YSRCP despite being the sole opposition in the House. This situation has compelled the party to resort to addressing public issues through the media. Jagan Mohan Reddy urged YSRCP members to leverage their strength in the Council by thoroughly researching topics, being fully prepared, and presenting arguments based on facts and evidence. He emphasized that only through meticulous preparation can the government be held accountable.
Referring to the Tirupati laddu controversy, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy linked the legal actions against various leaders to their scrutiny of the state government. He demanded explanations from those in power regarding the reentry of rejected ghee tankers into the system after the change in government. Jagan Mohan Reddy labeled the current TDP-led government as a ‘chain of scams,’ alleging instances of nepotism and corruption, particularly in land dealings in Visakhapatnam. He encouraged YSRCP members to actively engage in the Council, serve the public diligently, and maintain strong connections with the community.
