Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the coalition government for negatively impacting the aqua sector with its policies. He pledged support to aqua farmers and promised to protest until justice is served. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that the government is favoring companies controlling the aqua sector, leading to distress among farmers.

Addressing a gathering in Bhimavaram, he highlighted the disparity where aqua farmers incur a production cost of Rs 275 per kg but receive only Rs 230 per kg. Jagan Mohan Reddy accused companies associated with the coalition of manipulating prices to benefit themselves at the expense of farmers. He claimed that the government’s actions have caused losses in the aqua sector and criticized the inadequate relief measures implemented.

Drawing a comparison between the current coalition government and his previous administration, Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasized the steps taken by his government to regulate the aqua sector. He mentioned the Andhra Pradesh State Aquaculture Development Authority Act, which ensured fair prices for farmers. Jagan Mohan Reddy vowed to eliminate syndicates harming farmers’ interests and reiterated his commitment to supporting the agricultural community.

The YSRCP leader condemned the coalition government for neglecting farmers and failing to provide essential support. He highlighted the initiatives undertaken during his tenure to stabilize prices and support aqua farmers. Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the current government’s policies, which he believes have led to a decline in aqua sector productivity and exports. He assured farmers of his party’s unwavering support and advocacy for their rights.
