Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy visited the home of Kranthi Kumar, a Dalit youth who recently died by suicide following alleged police harassment. YS Jagan assured the grieving family of the party’s unwavering support in seeking justice for the tragic incident.
Kranthi Kumar, in a selfie video before his death, detailed months of police harassment and named specific police officers, including former Krishnalanka Circle Inspector Nagaraju. YS Jagan highlighted this case as emblematic of the breakdown in the policing system in Andhra Pradesh. He met with Kranthi Kumar’s family, expressing deep sympathy for their plight and the hardships they face.
YS Jagan emphasized the dire circumstances of the family, living in poverty with three young children left fatherless. Despite Kranthi Kumar having no criminal record and previous cases against him being closed without punishment, he was subjected to relentless police harassment for months. This tragic incident underscores the alarming deterioration of the police system, as per YS Jagan’s remarks.
