The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh is advocating for complete transparency in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. YSRCP General Secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy has written to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing the need for recognized political parties to access the complete list of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and voter data in a searchable digital format.
Appi Reddy has urged the CEO to provide constituency-wise and booth-wise voter lists in a digital and searchable format, along with comprehensive details of BLOs, including their names, polling stations or part numbers, designations, and contact information. This move is aimed at enhancing transparency, coordination, and accountability in the electoral process, especially during activities like voter list revision, claims, objections, additions, deletions, and migration verification.
Expressing concerns about alleged irregularities such as illegal deletion of voters, duplicate entries, and voter transfers, Appi Reddy has called for clarity on the procedures and safeguards being employed during the SIR exercise. He has emphasized the importance of ensuring that no legitimate voter is disenfranchised without proper procedures and has stressed the necessity of complete transparency to uphold the principles of free, fair, and impartial elections.
Appi Reddy has made a direct appeal to the Chief Electoral Officer to promptly furnish recognized political parties with the relevant digital voter data and the complete list of BLOs across all Assembly constituencies in the state. He has sent three separate letters to the CEO, outlining the party’s requests for digital access to the proposed voter list for the SIR exercise and constituency-wise details of BLOs to facilitate transparency, coordination, and effective participation in the electoral process.
