Former Indian cricket star Yuvraj Singh has expressed his interest in mentoring Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, similar to his guidance with Abhishek Sharma. Sooryavanshi, a young batting talent, recently made his debut for the senior Indian team in the T20I series against England. He set a new record by scoring the fastest fifty in List A cricket, surpassing Yuvraj’s record by completing it in just 11 balls.
Abhishek Sharma, another promising player mentored by Yuvraj, has been making waves in international cricket since his debut. Yuvraj, referring to Abhishek as “Terminator 4,” believes the young opener has excelled beyond his own abilities. Yuvraj also praised Sooryavanshi, calling him “Terminator 6,” acknowledging his remarkable progress and setting new benchmarks in the sport.
Yuvraj expressed his admiration for the evolution of cricket, drawing parallels with the changes seen in tennis players like Sinner and Alcaraz. He emphasized the importance of mentoring young talents like Abhishek and Sooryavanshi, highlighting their potential for successful careers in the sport.
Sooryavanshi and Abhishek recently had the opportunity to watch the men’s singles final at the All England Club with Yuvraj. Sooryavanshi described meeting Yuvraj as a special moment, considering him as his idol and gaining valuable insights about the mental aspects of the game. Abhishek, sharing a similar sentiment, felt privileged to watch the Wimbledon 2026 final alongside Yuvraj and Sooryavanshi, emphasizing the significance of the experience.
