Hollywood star Zac Efron will both act in and serve as an executive producer for the upcoming series ‘Angel Heart’. The one-hour drama, based on the 1978 horror novel ‘Falling Angel’, was adapted into the 1987 film ‘Angel Heart’. The show, created by Zach Baylin, follows a New York City paparazzo hired to find a missing woman, uncovering a web of powerful elites and potential supernatural forces.
Efron, known for his role in ‘The Iron Claw’, will also appear in the upcoming projects ‘Famous’ and ‘Judgment Day’. In ‘Famous’, he portrays a 38-year-old aspiring actor leveraging his resemblance to a famous star, while ‘Judgment Day’ sees him alongside Will Ferrell in a story about a reality TV judge facing a hostage situation.
The series ‘Angel Heart’ is produced by a team including Marc Toberoff, Max Hjortsberg, Lorca Hjortsberg, Alice P. Neuhauser, Zach Baylin, Kate Susman, Joe Hipps, Stuart Manashil, Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss. Efron’s involvement in the project follows his collaboration with A24 on ‘The Iron Claw’, where he played wrestler Kevin Von Erich.
