Quick-commerce platform Zepto stated that it has fully cooperated with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding the investigation into the alleged promotion of offshore betting platform Parimatch in India. The company clarified that it had no direct relationship with the advertiser under scrutiny and shared all information sought by the agency.
Zepto emphasized that the matter pertains to an advertisement placed in March 2025 through a third-party media agency arrangement for a merchandise entity, not directly by Zepto. The company asserted that it did not onboard, contract with, or manage the advertiser in question and had no involvement in any betting, gaming, or operational activities related to the entity under investigation.
According to Zepto, the advertisement was externally managed by a media agency, and the company facilitated connections between the investigating team and the concerned agency for further inquiries. Zepto refuted any claims suggesting its operational role in the matter, urging media platforms to report responsibly and avoid inaccurate associations.
The clarification from Zepto comes in response to media reports indicating that the Enforcement Directorate had requested information from the company as part of its broader investigation into Parimatch and its promotional activities in India. The agency is reportedly scrutinizing advertisements and marketing campaigns associated with Parimatch, as well as the channels through which such content reached Indian consumers.
