The popular movie “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,” featuring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar, has marked its 15th anniversary since hitting the screens. The film’s music and touching storyline continue to captivate audiences even today. Shankar Mahadevan, the composer, expressed his feelings about the music’s enduring appeal, admitting it feels odd to label his own work as “timeless.”
Mahadevan highlighted the film’s uniqueness and credited director Zoya Akhtar’s vision and collaborative spirit for its success. He emphasized the lack of constraints while working on the music, focusing on its role in enhancing the movie’s narrative rather than chasing commercial success. Each song in the film is distinct and strategically placed, contributing to the overall charm and surprise factor for viewers.
Reflecting on the creative process, Mahadevan praised the creative freedom granted by the filmmakers, allowing him and his team to infuse their signature style into the music. The collaboration with lyricist Javed Akhtar further enriched the musical experience, reflecting the essence of Shankar Ehsaan Loy. “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,” directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, premiered in 2011, featuring a stellar cast including Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif, and Kalki Koechlin.
